1st Move K-12 Tournament
WHAT:
4 Rounds "Unrated" G/15 (Each round can last up to 30 minutes).
Every round, your child's "pairing" (The specific board they will play on, their opponent's name, and which color pieces they will use for the game) will be posted online at acrosstheboardchess.com or via "print" on-site.
United States Chess Federation(USCF) RULES WILL BE INTRODUCED & IN EFFECT.
WHEN:
Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.
Arrive by 10am, the 1st Round starts at 10:30am
WHERE:
Little 5 Points Community Center ~ 1083 Austin Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
WHO:
Any student Kindergarten through 12th grade who can move all of the pieces as well as recognize "checkmate" may compete in this event. This event is intended for players who have not yet competed in tournaments "rated" by the United States Chess Federation(USCF).
HOW:
Arrive at the playing site by 10am on the day of the event and remain at the site, with your child, until they finish their 4th game. Players under 16 years of age should be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian. Players will not be monitored by tournament staff outside of the Playing Hall. Parents will not be allowed in the playing hall while games are in progress.
Snacks will be provided for players.
The event will be filmed, and by participating in the event you consent to the filmed/captured content being used as we see fit. We'll provide all of the boards and pieces. You may bring a chess clock if you have one
PRIZES:
Prizes & Requirements for winning a prize will be specified here by July 21st.
Prizes will include Trophies, and may include Free USCF memberships, and/or Chess Equipment/Sets (Board+Pieces)
REGISTRATION:
$20 online by August 22, 2025, afterwards is $30.
Registration closes August 23rd at 10:15am.
